How to use this tool
- Choose the symptom you want to investigate.
- Tell the guide your device, connection and whether other apps are affected.
- Use the proposed setting checks or linked audio tool. Stop using wet or physically damaged equipment and consult its maker.
Understanding your results
Check system volume, mute, balance and the selected output. Try another app or reconnect the cable/Bluetooth. A missing channel alone does not prove hardware damage.
Start with the symptom you can observe
Choose no sound, one side only, quiet or distorted sound, an unavailable microphone, denied microphone permission or the wrong output. Then select your device type, connection and whether the problem affects only this browser or other apps. The guide uses those answers to suggest relevant checks; it does not scan or inspect your hardware.
Separate the browser from the device
If another app works, check the browser tab’s mute state, site permissions and output route. If several apps fail in the same way, start with system media volume, balance and the selected device. For wired audio inspect the connection; for Bluetooth check pairing, battery and active output. Change one setting at a time and retest so the comparison remains meaningful.
Use a focused audio test next
Use Speaker Test for left and right output, Microphone Test for input permission and recording, or Headphone Test for a guided stereo check. If the device is wet, hot or physically damaged, stop testing and follow its manufacturer’s advice. Persistent faults may need qualified inspection; this guide does not certify a repair.
