Effective date: 30 October 2026. This policy covers FixMySpeakerPlus.com and its English, French and German pages. FixMySpeakerPlus is the name used by the website operator. Contact the operator about this policy at support@fixmyspeakerplus.com.
1. Audio tests and recordings
The playback tools generate sound in your browser. They do not request microphone permission. Microphone Test requests access only after you start the test. It reads the signal locally and, where supported, keeps a recording of up to 30 seconds in browser memory. We do not upload or receive this audio, and we do not use it for voice recognition, identification or AI training. You can replay, delete or download the sample. Closing or reloading the page releases the in-page recording; a downloaded file remains on your device until you delete it. Browser microphone permissions are managed separately in your browser settings.
2. Information used to operate the website
When you request a page, our hosting and delivery systems process connection information such as IP address, requested URL, time, browser information and response status. This enables delivery, security, fault investigation and abuse prevention. The website is hosted with o2switch. Hosting and email services may maintain their own operational logs. Tool selections and troubleshooting answers are processed in your browser; we do not maintain a server-side history of your answers.
3. Contact messages
If you submit the contact form, we receive your name, email address, subject and message in our support mailbox. If you email us directly, we also receive the information you include and ordinary email headers. We use this information to respond, investigate your request and maintain relevant correspondence. We do not add you to a marketing list. Please send only what is necessary. The form does not accept attachments and does not store a separate message archive in the website database. Email delivery necessarily involves the hosting/mail provider and the services used to exchange replies.
4. Necessary storage and anti-abuse checks
The site uses these first-party cookies and limited security records:
- fms_lang: remembers a language you select, for up to 365 days.
- fms_consent: remembers optional-cookie choices and the policy version for up to 180 days. It is renewed when you save a new choice.
- fms_contact: a short-lived form security cookie, up to 30 minutes, used to prevent forged submissions.
- fms_session: an administrator-only login cookie, up to eight hours. Visitors do not need an account. Temporary administrator sign-in or setup cookies expire after 15 minutes.
- To limit contact-form abuse, the application temporarily stores keyed hashes of an IP address or email address and submission counters, not message contents. Entries expire within 24 hours and are cleared during subsequent contact requests.
5. Optional Google Analytics
If Analytics is enabled in Cookie settings and you choose to allow it, Google Analytics 4 receives page and interaction events, a browser identifier and device/browser information. Events may describe a tool being started, stopped or reporting an error. They do not contain your microphone recording, contact-form fields or troubleshooting answers. We remove query strings and fragments from the page address sent by our tag. Google may derive approximate location from network information. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled in our tag. We use these reports to understand which pages and controls need improvement, not to identify you by your voice.
Our analytics cookies are configured for up to 180 days without extending that lifetime on each visit. Google processes analytics information under its applicable terms; its Privacy Policy and information about partner sites explain its processing. Analytics is optional and is not required to use any audio tool. If no analytics service is enabled, this category is unavailable in Cookie settings.
6. Your cookie and tracking choices
Optional analytics and advertising are off before a choice. Select Necessary only to decline, or choose categories individually. Reopen Cookie settings in the footer of any page to change your choice. Withdrawing analytics consent stops further analytics loading after the page reloads and removes the Google Analytics cookies accessible to this site. You may also clear site data in your browser. A Global Privacy Control signal is treated as a refusal of optional analytics and advertising in that browser. No advertising network is active as of this policy’s effective date. We do not sell personal information or use the site for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. Purposes and legal grounds
Where European or UK data protection law applies, we rely on consent for optional analytics storage and access; you can withdraw it at any time. We rely on legitimate interests in operating and protecting the website, preventing abuse and responding to enquiries for necessary technical processing and correspondence, subject to your rights. Processing may also be necessary to comply with a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Providing contact-form information is voluntary, but without a return email we cannot reply. We do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you by automated means.
8. Recipients and international processing
Access is limited to those operating the site and service providers needed for hosting, email and, with your consent, analytics. We may disclose information where legally required or necessary to protect rights and security. Providers may process information outside your country. Where European or UK transfer rules apply, the relevant provider arrangements and safeguards must apply, such as applicable adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. Contact us for information about a particular service or transfer; no statement here means all processing takes place in the EU.
9. How long information is kept
Audio remains only in the open page unless you download it. Cookie and form-security periods are described above. Contact correspondence is kept while the enquiry is active and thereafter only as needed for follow-up, dispute handling or applicable legal obligations; it is not given an unlimited-use marketing purpose. Hosting logs follow the hosting provider’s operational and security retention rules. Our Google Analytics property is configured to retain user-level and event-level data for two months, without resetting user retention on new activity; standard aggregated reports are not governed by the same deletion period as user-level and event-level records. You can ask us about the retention applying to a specific enquiry or service.
10. Your rights and requests
Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, a copy or portability of your information, restriction of processing, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Residents of applicable US states may also have rights to opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising and to appeal a denied request. We do not discriminate because you exercise an applicable privacy right. Email support@fixmyspeakerplus.com with your request. We verify identity proportionately, explain any lawful exception and respond within the period required by applicable law. If an applicable appeal is available, reply with “Privacy appeal” and the reason for review. You may complain to your local data protection authority or other competent regulator; in the EEA you may contact the authority where you live, work or believe an infringement occurred.
11. Children, security and external links
The website is intended for general audio troubleshooting, not for collecting information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent personal information can request review and deletion. We use HTTPS and restricted administrator access, but no website or email system can promise absolute security. External manufacturer and browser-support websites have their own privacy practices; following a link takes you to that provider.
12. Changes and contact
We update this page when our practices change and show the effective date above. A material change to optional tracking requires a fresh choice where appropriate. For questions or requests, use Contact us or support@fixmyspeakerplus.com.
