How to use this tool
- Connect your headphones and confirm the selected output in system settings.
- Follow the left, right and combined tests. Answer only from what you hear.
- Review your observations and repeat a step if needed. There is no automatic hardware score.
Understanding your results
Your answers are self-reported. The browser cannot confirm which physical device played the sound.
Prepare your headphones or earbuds
Connect the headphones you want to check and select them as the system output. Check the L and R markings and reduce volume before starting. With Bluetooth, confirm the active audio connection and battery level. This headphone test is about channel routing and your observations, not a laboratory sound-quality rating.
Follow the guided stereo check
The guide presents left, right and combined playback in separate steps. Play each short tone and answer according to what you hear. You can move back or restart if you selected the wrong answer. The final screen repeats your observations so you can compare the sides without treating them as an automatic pass or fail.
When one headphone is silent
Check centered audio balance, mono settings, plugs and adapters. For wireless earbuds, verify that both are connected. Compare the same headphones in another app; if possible, compare another output device without changing several settings at once. The speaker channel test offers direct channel buttons, while Audio Troubleshooter helps separate a browser issue from a connection or system issue.
